If food is the body of good living, then wine is its soul

In the late 50’s and early 60’s “The Kasbah” was Galway's First Night Club, a Late night eatery where you could get ‘atin soup or drinkin’ soup, crubbeens and chips. The name we gave to this new Wine Bar is an affectionate tribute to the two sisters, Nora and Dilly who ran the establishment at the time...

Current Wine Specials

Nebbiolo Principiano “Le COSTE”

Piedmont, Italy (VEGAN)

100% Nebbiolo grape. Aromas of dark orange, spicy and flowery nuances. Tannins and acidity are in the foreground, but it doesn’t lose its balance or elegance. A very pleasant and easy to drink wine.

Burja Bela

White, Vipava Valley, Slovenia (VEGAN)

Laski Rizling 30%, Rebula 30%, Malvasia 30% and other varieties 10%, Burja Bela comes from 60-year-old vines in Primorska's Vipava Valley. Lovely Rieslingesque aromas rise up out of the glass, dominated by tropical fruit and ripe grapes on the vine. Both the nose and palate feature a pleasant herbal backdrop, and there is just a hint of drying tannin on the finish.

We believe that if food is the body of good living, then the wine is its soul. This is reflected in our selection of wines that have been personally and expertly chosen, with a single goal in mind. To source and present the most unusual wines from all corners of the globe. Our repertoire includes both Old and New World wines from Slovenia, Italy and New Zealand, to name but a few. With our collection, we aim to provide you with a wining experience you wont find anywhere else in Ireland. All of our staff members are professional and extremely competent. They will happily describe the food they serve and help you choose the best wine to pair with your dish. Make sure to also ask about our daily food specials!

Excellent food and choice of wines, frequent changes of the menu, always with a search for excellence and refinement, warm welcome and cosy atmosphere. I wish I could live in Galway to make the Kasbah Wine Bar my regular place to enjoy the good things of life!

Where has that vegan cheese been all my life? Everything was lovely x thanks for looking after us on an otherwise miserable rainy day.

Galarama Norah Maria

The place to go for a great glass of wine and some tasty, different food on Quay Street. Staff is lovely and competent, and weather permitting there is outside seating on the busiest pedestrian street in town. Great elevated inside seating too! They play with their wine list and their food menu a lot, so make sure you go back there regularly to check what's new!

Aine Ni Saoirse

Lovely place, amazing view, incredibly kind and thoughtful staff, beautiful wine list and the food is love on a plate. Try croquettes, the lamb and ask Elena a suggestion of wine, she is the best!

This was the greatest little find in Galway, there's nothing else like it! I was sold when I saw they had a vegan cheese board on the menu as it suited me and my non vegan friends perfectly, often it can be hard to find something we can all enjoy in the same place. The food was delicious, phenomenal vegan cheese, beautiful wine and the staff were incredible with great service and so lovely to talk to and recommended some great things to do in Galway!

Walked past, wanting something different to a pub. Headed upstairs and discovered a very relaxed and friendly location with excellent staff. We had the mixed meat and cheese platter with Irish cheeses; they were excellent. We enjoyed champagne cocktails and the red wines of the week. Highly recommended. If we had more days we would go back.
